Here's who I am & what I do
Hi and thanks for stopping by! I'm Maddy and I graduated from Purdue University in 2020 with my Bachelor of Science in Public Health with minors in Biology and Chemistry. Wanting to further my understanding of Public Health, I decided to pursue a Master's of Public Health at the University of Michigan. My personal experiences and love of both food and science have led me to pursue a career in the field of public health nutrition with a strong focus on maternal and child health. My professional experience shows a deep passion and commitment to making a progressive change to policies, culture, and stigma surrounding women's health. I plan to fuel this passion through my professional opportunities in the context of public health.
Using my public health training, I am looking to track and analyze relevant research, reports, and policy developments, as well as provide research and writing support around key policies and programs impacting families, including federal nutrition programs, federal dietary guidelines, paid leave, and healthcare. I am skilled in translating policy and research information for a variety of audiences and producing written materials such as infographics, op-eds, social media posts, and reports.
